Eagles learn about Edith Cavell

Year 1 are thoroughly enjoying our history topic this half term and have loved learning about both Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole. Today, the children explored our third and final nurse of our topic - Edith Cavell. 

The children explored her life and put key events on a timeline. They watched videos, read books and then role played her life as a nurse, tending to the wounded soldiers in WW1. 

The children role played:

1) Edith tending to the wounded

2) Her hiding allied soldiers and helping them escape

3) Her assisting wounded soldiers no matter which side they fought for
